Hi,

just thought that I would put this UK event out there.

The Ride to the Wall is now in its 6th year: "This annual ride brings motorcyclists from near & far together to attend a memorial service on the steps of the Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum on the first Saturday in October, in order to remember those who can no longer ride by our side. The event has also highlighted the immense generosity and kindness of the wider motorcycling community, and has gone a long way to bringing together motorcyclists and members of the wider community who share similar values, and as part of this experience has broken down barriers. It has also increase awareness of the National Memorial Arboretum to a larger audience, and in doing so has allowed those that may not have already done so, the opportunity to remember those that have made the ultimate sacrifice."

"The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK's year-round centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in our country. It is a living and lasting memorial.

It commemorates and celebrates those who have given their lives in the service of their country, all who have served and suffered as a result of conflict, and others who, for specific or appropriate reasons are commemorated."

The 2013 ride takes place on Saturday 5 October and has 3,559 bikes registered for attendance. Most of these bikes will travel in 8 convoys from various starting locations around the country converging at the National Memorial Arboretum for a service of remembrance.

We Will Remember Them

Good to hear Skye. I shall be riding from Northampton with my mate, also an R3 rider, and 268 other bikes at the last count!
