Replaced socket head bolt with custom bolt for easy tank removal!

Getting the allen key in there and trying to turn the bolt was fiddly. With the hex bolt just slide the socket with the extension over the head, easy as. Although I do have risers on and this tends to close the gap up a bit between tank and dash.

Hence why I bought this hand screw... no tools needed n takes 2 seconds to get off... I was always scared of slipping and scratching my paintwork.

Oooh, I'm so envious of folks with machine tools and the skill to use them.

No need to be envious, just look in your local buy and sell medium, in Australia we have Gumtree bought mine for 1500.00 and whats important to remember is that I dont know of anyone that was born operating a lathe but I do know that everyone was born with the ability to learn, I am 60 and still Learning

Gosh, I remember that thread, and I so wanted to do it, and as I recall, the specific parts weren't available or the store had gone out of business, or something.

I need to revisit that.

I'll see if I can find a link, pins in ad were West Marine, expensive, I found others. They seem loose, like they could come out, but they don't.
