Well, I said elsewhere that I would commemorate my 3,000th post here by taking my Mulberry Mistress out for her very first winter of 2013-14 ride and I'm deliriously happy to say that I was able to keep my word. It wasn't a very long ride mileage-wise, just under 50 miles, but I was out and about for nearly 5 hours and they were about the most enjoyable 5 hours I've had in many a month (Shhh... don't tell my better half!)

I could drone on about what a lovely, almost Spring-like day it was or pine away about how much I missed The Beast over the longest stretch of non-riding that I have had to suffer in over 10 years (about 16-17 weeks), but that's all behind me now. One of the bonuses of the day was finding out that the very local dealership that used to service my VTX 1800s is probably going to become an authorized Triumph dealer and should be up and running with it by the end of the summer. That news and the all too brief saddle time made me a very happy boy!

Some days are so much better than others and for me that very often includes some quality me-time, enjoying the liberating, stress-relieving freedom afforded to me by my motorcycle.

Now, if I could only figure out how to recapture the balance of my sanity (and the hour we will lose by setting our clocks ahead tonight)...

I know how you feel Phil. I just got back from Sydney and went for a short blat round the block (plus a bit). It was the first chance I've had to ride since ........ yesterday morning. Winter is coming though, but fortunately all that means is warmer gear.

Good on ya Phil! Hopefully I can meet your future Triumph dealership when I slid into your area this Spring. It's always good to know where they are when out and about on a brisk fling in the countryside...

Good for you Phil..i know the feeling oh so well. Last year i was riding near the end of Febuary. This has been one brutal winter up here in the Northeast, I've yet to venture out. Yesterday i saw about ten riders in town at the local bar and grill. Know one is really going on any long hauls ,that spring like weather we had yesterday was the fiirst of it's kind here in a long time.

Alas, it was just a tease yesterday, albeit a very welcome one. Probably another month or so of suffering ahead, hopefully with a couple more interludes of lucidity. Meanwhile, I'se got the blues...

K2, I think you might be on to something or, possibly, you're just on something!
