There are others in your area as well.

Yo, Redondo!

I rented homes on South Juanita Ave. and Garnet Street when I was a kid back in the early seventies and loved to take my lady friends to watch the submarine races at the top of Miramar Park, Malaga and Christmas Coves, Lunada Bay, etc.;)

Worked at Mary Davis' Portofino Hotel, Restaurant, marina and residence apartment right behind the breakwater in King Harbor and then managed several shoe stores in the then largest mall in Cali - Del Amo Fashion Square .

Mrs. Smith, an amazing personality and truly great woman, was known and treated as "Mom" by the great oval track Indy car racers of that day, AJ Foyt, the Unser brothers, Mario Andretti, et al. She was supposedly the first female, professional stock car racer in history.

Good times!

What, Norm?

Is that what you call your little fella'?

I call mine 'Kong'.

It's so unfair. Anyone can get to a gym and get fit but when it comes to submarines you are kind of stuck with what you are born with.

Worked for a race team in the mid 80’s based at Torrance and headed to Redondo on the weekends and had a few bevvies at Beach Bum Burt’s, was quite an eye opener for a young kiwi lad
