Redesigned RamAir filter available for ordering

For me...I bought the RAMAIR for a couple of reasons. I needed a new stock type element and liked the idea of the RAMAIR design. I got rid of the plastic and gained some extra hidden storage. The cost is more then OEM but I will not have to replace the RAMAIR ever. The induction sound MAKES you think you have more power, true or not, who cares? I do not race, unless the idiot needs a smack down. It all fits under the Bear Claw without hacking the chrome apart. Perfect, in my world.

Kawasaki has just released a new race bike that they claim has 300 horsepower. If a cycle magazine is allowed to test one of these motorcycles and they backup that claim then I assume it's true even though it's not Kawasaki results. From my understanding ram air provided these filters to different individuals such as Mr lush and Bob carpenter. They both have tested it and Bob Carpenter claims that although too restrictive for his 240+ hp motors doesn't mean that it doesn't do its job on improving performance. Neville Lush has said that the filter flows very well. What difference does it make who tested it as long as the results are proven?

I think we generally require dyno sheets from a trusted operator who is comparing apples to apples. Neville and Bob are trusted. If they provide dyno sheets comparing apples to apples (the same stock R3) it's all we need to know the truth. Ramair just has to pay for their time to do that work.

Triumph never provided a dyno sheet for the RIII, yet I still believe their claims. Chevrolet never provided a dyno sheet for my Camaro, but I still believe them when they say 328HP. I don't provide readouts on every note of a piano that I tune, but my customers are happy with my tuning.

How about you buy one, get a before dyno readout with OEM filters, and then get it tuned with the RamAir Filter and no other changes, and if the results aren't better than the stock setup, I will buy the filters from you for what you payed for them.

maybe the difference between horsepower at the crank where is far as I know all manufacturers measure theirs and rear wheel horsepower. Yamaha claims 200 horsepower for their Vmax yet on the dyno it'll do between 167 and 171. the Rocket Roadster claims at the crank a 140+ hp and at the rear wheel puts out about 121.

Bottom line about this filter is that you almost certainly can't create a better filter that will still fit under the claw and even integrate the O2 sensor very neatly. If you could put something else under there that was better, someone would have designed that by now. Therefore, it's almost irrelevant just how much better (certainly can't be worse) the Ramair is compared to stock; it's going to be better, and trusted engine guys have already tested it and found it to be so and even given us some numbers that work out to better than tiny triple filters, worse than giant triple filters that require claw surgery.

Now that Ramair have fixed the glaring shortcoming of the first generation - mounts without the appropriate grooves - I'm at a loss as to how any other manufacturer could meaningfully improve on an under claw filter to the point where you want them to quit making it, @dobro

Very well said @cr0ft, people just don't seem to get it, it's not worth developing a better system to gain a very limited increase in HP, if you are serious about HP, then engine mods are the only true way to get it, how it breaths is only a small part, yes there is power to be made there, but if you use stock headers then it's negligible compared to having a nice exhaust on it, you MUST do more than just change you air filter to hope for any serious gain in power. If your like me and towing as well just out for a good ride, then the rocket with good exhaust new air system is ample enough, unless you want to rev the living **** out of it you wont get much more, Rockets have proven time and time again that power is made in revs and cams with head work (carpenter racing, Nev lush cams and head work) all are proven, chase them for your numbers, lol, My self I am chasing some nice low down torque, I want all my power to be around 4000rpm total, that's enough to have some serious fun with and still pull all the weight we need in our camper trailer, my opinion though so don't bother trying to argue with me about as I won't lower my self to your insecure level.
