Reasonable Dealer Request?

My girl had less than a single mile on her when I got her. Presumably just enough for a tech to ensure all was in order. As the first rider, I was asked to not go crazy because the manager said, with anything over 8 miles, folks view as used.

I'm getting my brand new Rocket 3R this spring and am wondering if it is reasonable to request a bike from the dealer that has not been test ridden by other potential customers. I'm just weird that way and rather not have had someone else fingering it or worse.
My dealer wouldn't let me test ride the new one he had on the floor for just that reason. He did however let me take a used one out for as long as I wanted. He even offered to let me take the used one home for the weekend.

My 2022 3R had a whopping 3 miles on the clock when I purchased the bike new in March 2022. Definitely not a DEMO bike, and likely ridden only by the shop service staff during PDI setup. I would expect them to do that (for safety purposes if for no other reason). Almost 2-yers later and no issues to report.

I understand your concern here, but I personally would not be too concerned. Your bike will come with a full factory warranty, so that should provide you with some peace-of-mind. I would be more concerned about buying a designated DEMO bike from a dealer, but even those are sold as new with full factory warranty.

One of the two Triumph dealers in my area would not even offer a test ride back in 2021/2022, stating that Rocket parts took too long to source if the bike was involved in a test-ride collision. My preferred local dealer allowed me to test ride a 3R prior to purchase (not the same bike I ended up buying there) and that test ride sold me on eventually purchasing my 3R.

I had my bike delivered in fan with 0km on the clock, so yes and i would insist!

Mine had 0 kms. I don't think they performed a PDI ride on it. I had them install the TORs on the bike before I picked it up and the tech who did the work informed me that these were the first ones they had installed on a new Roadster. He said he hadn't had an opportunity to see what the difference was like between stock pipes and TORs.
