As per kippers comments there is a very detailed write up on the Forum on how to change the bikes tune under the 'R3T Derestricting' thread.

You are correct, in its basic form you install the free Tune ECU software to your laptop, buy a cable to connect the laptop to the bike and then upload your chosen tune to the bikes ECU.

I uploaded the 'R3T Stock or slip on' tune to my bike (I had just fitted TORS pipes) and it made quite a difference. The acceleration is noticeably quicker.

It was pretty easy to do - let me know if you need any help.

OK it will cost money - but it will get done right and be BESPOKE to your bike.
This will ALWAYS BE BETTER.

There are tunes out there and they MAY help or may not.
In my case for example - my R3 ran rich from factory - so most shared tunes made it run WORSE.
For my sins I work with PC's.
