RDU -Who is actually coming ?

Brilliant. It's about 1,500km from down here too. Going to do it in 3 days and take in some scenery hopefully with Hanso and Ponters and some others.

Just had a look on Google maps. If you go straight down to Emerald then across to Rockhampton it's "only" 1,130kms - or is that a sh1t route? Straight down the coast is also only about 1,190kms. Anyway, you'll know the best way to go.
As soon as you are certain, I suggest you look at booking at the Happy Wanderer.

Good stuff mate , there is nothing and i mean nothing better than a few days with your head inside a helmet to sort out what's important and what's not. Well that's what i've always found anyway ... see ya at the Bay mate .

thats great mate. tell the princess we all love her for helping you get your priorities write

I have also PMed Cheekygreeky with no reply, I hope he is alright
have also tried to ring him but only got his voicemail and I left a message

G'day Hanso

Cheeky has a bad back that may keep him bed ridding for 2 or 3 days at a time. He was going to do our poster but have not heard from him for about 2 weeks. Who is a graphics whiz and has the soft ware to do a decent poster. I only have Publisher and its pretty basic. So I'm still looking.

Excellent Gra. You should try to join up with the southern contingent and ride up with us. Planned route is somewhere in a different thread - I'll be re-posting it shortly so we can coordinate.

Well all booked in and so loking forward to meeting up,,,,,,,,,,,,, and the ride of course.
Ahhh can almost smell the BBQ now mmm. Later fellas.

Hey M, we'll need to meet up and ride up to meet Canberra together. Anyone else coming through Victoria or guys based in Vic? We spoke about routes so I generously offered to organise the whole thing. Where we meet, stay etc.

So here I go organising it.

Canberra tell us what were doing!

See, I organised it.

Here is what I suggested before. Open to suggestions. Once we can agree on the route we can schedule times to meet along the way.

I'd also like to put together a list of contact phone numbers for everyone travelling to have with them. Happy to coordinate. I don't have a problem posting the list here but if anyone prefers they can PM or e-mail the details to me and I'll distribute it.

Given that it's a long ride we don't really want to piss fart around and back-track and stuff so maybe something like this works for us southerners. Not meaning to leave anyone out but using a few names to illustrate.

Day 1. Ponters leaves Melbourne, picks up Cobber at Wodonga and they spend first night at Gundagai. 505 km (170 for Cobber) or add 100km and stay at Yass.

Day 2. Ponters and Cobber head to Muswellbrook via Cowra, Bathurst. 530km from Gundagai (via Cootamundra) or 485 km from Yass.

Kiwi and I head to Muswellbrook via Campbelltown and Penrith. 515km

Hanso heads to Muswellbrook via Kangaroo Valley (lucky bastard) 520km, meeting up with me and Kiwi at Bowral or Campbelltown on the way. Or he can meet us in Goulburn adding 45km to his trip.

Day 3. We all head to Warwick 570km via Tamworth, Armidale, Tenterfield and meet up with TC, Mitch, Bruce, Binnsy, BigAl etc

Day 4. Look out Hervey Bay 454 km

Day 2 could be longer and Day 3 shorter if we stay at Tamworth (156km from Muswellbrook). Willow Tree is roughly in the middle of the two.

Anyone coming from the west could probably aim to hook up with us around Muswellbrook/Tamworth unless you fancy going through Broken Hill, Cobar or Bourke.

Those along the way can join up or "go their own way". Anyway, just food for thought. We could knock a day off and do it in bigger chunks of around 750km but I'll be more inclined to do that on the way home.
