did you try watching the TPS voltage while taking revs up it to trouble area of revs as I mentioned in @Steel's thread about a similar problem, my TPS test fine when checked while engine was turned of but it turned out there was worn area in the troublesome area, I had the entire fuel system and ignition coils etc apart and cleaned before working it out it was if fact the bloody TPS, worth checking as it is not obivious
 
No problems with a GPZ 900 , anyhow if any one laughs at you Sean can give a demo of the chicken wing, if they can stop crying I bet there will be no more laughing
and theres nothing wrong with an old GPZ900 I had some years ago that thing is probably still going strong did many hard km on it
