On the eight day God created Harley Davidson.

Over night he traded it in for something bigger and faster.

And finally the true motorcycle was born, Triumph, Rocket 3

Hi Guys
Practice run for next year. Be passing through Mel on Sunday. Let me know if you have nothing better to do than talk bikes. Back on the boat 6.30 to Tas. Stephen

What is the weather like in Tas around RDU time next year? We have a few obligatory stops to make to see family friends, etc but after that we are looking to see some sights and ride some new roads

Over on another thread "Off for a Ride" it has been suggested by TC to do a 5 day trip around Tassie after RDU which would be a great opportunity for those that are travelling longer distances to get to Melbourne

Whilst that sounds like a great idea I would have to give it a miss as I will have to be on duty at the track (MotoGP Phillip Island) on the Thursday morning after "RDU Melbourne".

If you were to board the Ferry on the Sunday Evening of RDU landing Tassie Monday, you could do Tassie in 4 very full days and then board the ferry Thursday evening and stay in Melbourne over night before setting of for Philip Island Fri morning

But in saying that, others that were wanting to take in the MotoGP could do it as a filler between the RDU and MotoGP as the action doesn't start to hot up till Saturday with Qualifying, Friday is practices and Aussie SBK racing.
my plans will be to hang around Melbourne /Geelong area till Wednesday morning then over to Island to set up camp with the other Marshalling Officals as we have to be on duty first thing Thursday

While talking about making arrangements those that are planning on Staying in hard accommodation in Cowes (Phillip Island) and not the track side camping will want to book it early as the the Island Accommodation can fill up Quickly

Just a Suggestion ... something to ponder over;):)

You just mapped out a pretty good 3 week holiday. Shame I can't get 3 weeks off until I retire and according to the plan that's 8 or 9 years off.

Put a driver behind the wheel mate .. may just be a once in a lifetime chance to hit Tassie with a crew of Rockets. I've learnt to do what I can when I can, no promises the opportunity will present itself again or that any of us will even be around if it does. Just had another old mate of mine pass away yesterday. BSA Goldstars and firearms were his passions .. just how the dice rolls when you've had as many birthdays as some of us have had ;)
