Rant...**** Prius driver

I don't think anyone here is particularly interested in our VW Golf TDI. Since you said something - I wrote "of course" because they became illegal to sell until VW comes up with a fix (which to date, they haven't) -- though the Feds here stressed it was o.k. to continue to own and drive if you already had one, and sure enough, they disappeared off the lots.

I surely agree with having interesting vehicles, and there were times when I dreamed of a Ferrari or such, and after a BMW M-3 and three Jaguar E-Types, it was pretty clear that my pocket book would only support performance on two wheels, and having never warmed to a sore back on a ****** rocket . . . well here I am.

Joe

I bet good money that you are good at finding the sweet spot........

That is what I am talking about.....state of mind..... People that drive a Prius trying to get the most MPGs are in a zone of their own. They have no clue as to what is going on in the world around them and do not care.

It is not the Prius that is the problem.......A PT Cruiser is 100X worse than a Prius.

What is the difference between a porcupine on the side of the road and the BMW car that just went by?????

My business vehicle is currently a 2009 Prius. Took some getting used to, and a couple repair incidents, but solid since.

This thread makes me wonder if that is why people have been treating me different on the road

BINGO!

Yeah, after I posted that I realized VW was prohibited selling the cars until a fix was made. I had a Golf R for a couple of years. With a few minor enhancements it was a quite quick.

We've had a few BMWs, currently have a 335i. Never owned a Jag, mostly American in days past, Mustangs, Corvette, and a couple of Vipers. And yeah, having reached my golden years those exotics will unfortunately remain out of reach. That is if I don't want to come home and find the locks changed. I reluctantly gave up on the sport bikes, more due to knees than back, but the same result unfortunately. I really miss riding a proper motorcycle.

That's an interesting phenomenon. My Step-Dad finally got himself an older red corvette and apparently it makes everyone else on the road nutters. Little hatchbacks feel the need to pass while he's doing 5-10mph over the speed limit, full size pickups think 3/4 of a car length is plenty of room to merge in front of him. Something about the car makes other people drive much more aggressively around him. My mom hates it and is doing everything she can to convince him to sell it, Ha!

2010 to 2013 I was a transporter for most of all the car dealerships around here and got to drive just about every new car made during those years.
I got to drive a VW TDI sporty Golf. Red and black with all ground effects and 6 speed man. trans. That was a fun car to drive, I picked that car up in Springfield Md. and brought it to Durham NC. I fill it up with diesel in Springfield and had almost 3/4 tank of fuel left when I got home.
I would love to own that car.

I almost got to drive a Viper but at the last min. I had to haul it on a trailer.........Dang it. I did get to drive it on and off the trailer

The whiners are just jealous because these are four wheel vehicles, with air conditioning and a decent sound system, and relatively large cargo capacity, that get 50% better gas mileage their favorite motorcycles.

So ... they blame the tree huggers, who I guess must be people who actually care about polluting. And they stereotype the people who choose ecologically responsible vehicles. And they call the folks they don't like "gay." As though they were 5th grade level bullies.

Nailed it.
