Range Rover runs over bikers

I'm glad most of us are smart enough not to try to stop a car with a bike.......
or several bikes. Shame for the ones who did, though.

Said my piece .. read that the bike rider that was run over is now paralysed .. the 4x4 driver has a few stitches .. and the sympathy and support of just about everyone it would seem . F#cked up world were his actions are seen as 'justifiable' and somehow the riders injuries were 'deserved' . Done with this one.

A news channel commented today a poll, of whom they did not say, came back with 88% saying the Rover driver was in the right, with the rest taking the side of the bikers. I always wonder when they do these polls, as no one has ever asked my opinion,,,.

So many comments here, all valid to a point, but "everyone" should be prepared to face the consequences of their own actions.
Did you know the design you use for your avatar was originaly designed and used by Clay Smith Cams Shaft Company I believe? Just bit of history.

Just seen more footage on facebook in regards to this story, and I think this mob of so called bikers are a fu@$en disgrace. Since when do bikers Ride fu@$ing quads:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

A p plater followed a mate on his Harley about five foot off his arse, he was stuck behind traffic, for about 20kms through the mountains in a no overtaking 80k zone. When we came to a stop he gave her a mouth full, her reply was " I can do 80 km's here if I want. WTF. When we got going again she sat about 4 foot off his arse??? On the other side to call this mob bikers is an insult.

That riders injuries were absolutely horrible and tragic. As far as I can tell, he was just stopping to check on his mate that was downed (the one who, for some unknown reason got himself run over by the SUV). The real question would be, is it an understandable reaction for a man (with his family) that is threatened by approximately a dozen angry men trying to beat their way into his vehicle, to gun the engine and take off which did result in other bikes and a biker being struck?

Frankly, I think it is unreasonable to fault the driver for doing just that. He was afraid, and understandably so. After all, at the end of the video we see what the likely outcome would have been for him to do nothing, which is that his windows are busted and he is drug out, beaten, and knifed.

Absolutely agree.

And nobody is mentioning that this guy's wife could have been hysterically and repeatedly shouting something like, "GO, GO, GO, LET'S GET OUT OF HERE!!" Maybe he didn't think it was a good idea. Maybe he was only on the edge of deciding that was an option. We don't know because we weren't there but one thing for sure is that it was a heated and intense moment and he was not alone... he had his family to think of. It just blows me away that anybody could fault this guy for making the decision he did in such a moment as that. It doesn't matter what may have happened before the video.

As far as the guy who got ran over... ever hear the phrase guilty by association? A guy robs a bank and shoots a teller but it's the get-away driver that gets shot and dies in the chase. How much pity do you have for the get-away driver? Not much. These guys were obviously out to cause havoc. Law abiding citizens or people with even half a brain don't hang out with idiots like this for a reason.

these guys where there to cause trouble..

"Cops have gotten photos of hundreds of license plates from bridge and tunnel cameras and are trying to identify more of the bikers, who first swarmed Lien, his wife and child on the West Side Highway in Harlem Sunday about 1:30 p.m.
But many of the plates are stolen or belong on different bikes, making it tougher to ID the motorcyclists".. if they were just a group going on Sunday ride why do this????

as for the guy that got run over.. yes it sucks but he should have not even been there.. did not even have a MC licenses

this is a quote from another forum

Here is the great "Dad" we are talking about:
Edwin E. Mieses, 26, of 17 Bernard Ave., Nov. 28, charged with operating a motor vehicle after license was revoked, illegal possession of a Class D narcotic, operating a motor vehicle with defective equipment and on five outstanding warrants;
Arrested Again in May, Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.
In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show."
How can a family defend this record, and there is more….
This info is on all the real biker sites. We don't consider this guy a Biker, rather a Thug!
