Good work Battersea and Barbagris both of you have obviously put alot of time into this. I for one appreciate it.

Don't get put off by all the questions most of us on here have no idea so we must ask.

I can't recall what the K&Ns cost me but the set of 5 from Flip are currently around US$130 plus shipping. Then there's $60 for filter covers if you wanted them (I did). With the Ramair you'll still need to do something about the crankcase breather ($20) but if you already have K&Ns that's not necessary, and of course no need for the filter covers.

THEY look good but do they make HP ?

Maybe Carpenter Racing should also be sent a trial filter.
As they might mod allot of the rockets in the USA..

Thanks for the enlightenment guys, my biggest concern is I really didn't want to see my baby go up in flames, just remember reading about the guy who had the filters catch alight and it put me of foam filters, but still curious as to how well it would flow compared to my K&N RX 4040's looking at going to Neville Lush in the future as soon finances allow

The info on bell mouths is interesting and makes a compelling case. Thanks for providing it. I wonder what difference it makes when the air stream isn't a continuous flow but pulses as into throttle bodies.

Thing is that we don't yet know how much power (if any) they really make - If Wayne/Nev see a chance they'll flow for a carpenter engine than I know RAMAIR would be happy to supply one. I know filters are in transit.

Art - if Carpenter want to try one - then just contact RAMAIR. Really!. But it's NOT designed for carpenter-ised engines.

Long term I believe it's very possible RAMAIR may be interested in talking with Bob about a different filter for radical engines and with a different "claw". Maybe you can get a filter into that race "claw" you have - now that would be interesting!

Let's see - Just about every NON Super/Turbo charged race engine uses them. I wonder why? - This is NOT Rocket science - it's tried and tested proven to work technology.

They have others that would flow MORE if you like the "pod" look and are not worried about having the claw on.

Used on F3 race engines.
Upto 590mm long if you're really worried.
But they're designed to feed a plenum which would have rampipes/bellmouths inside.
The radiused inlet is NOT to be underestimated.
