Could someone give me a brief How to: Raise my idle to about 1000rpm's. I have tuneecu and have set some perimeters . Im running with a dyneotuned PCV. Bikes a beast just idles to low!!!
Thanks in advance!!!

Out of curiousity, why would you want the bike to idle higher? The manual states that the bike should be idling at +/- 800 RPM.

Interesting! how many other people raise their idle speed? Do you find it affects how much fuel is used while idling?

Bike has been set like this since 500mile service and I have 3000+miles now and avg about 34mpg. The higher rpm at idle also make the bike shift a lot better for me...

high idle is better then low oil pressure damage any day of the week

Wouldn't a higher idle speed also cause the motor to overheat sooner in traffic and stuff? I'm genuinely curious. I know most bikes have some kind of adjustment for idle but why don't Harleys have a higher rpm? Last time I rode one it has an oil pressure gauge that showed extremely low pressure at idle, revving it was the only way to keep it up.

yep and the Rocket has low oil pressure at idle which is why I raised mine to 950. As for overheating at idle I have not noticed any problems. But then I lowered my fan turn on setting also.

has anyone ever put a oil pressure gauge on a rocket to know if it is low at idle?
even when it is hot my oil light has never came on while idling.
has anyone ever had the eng oil light come on while idling?
i would think that the gas usage would be very minor unless you set at a red light for hours.
just a guess it might run cooler because the water pump is turning faster.
for what it's worth mine idles at 800 rpm. and it seems to be ok.
