I was concerned about ordering over the net. So I took a motorcycle trip up to Aerostich in Duluth to be fitted. I needed an excuse to ride:D

uuummmm......"i own a rocket" and "i don't want [a 110mi] R/T" should be mutually exclusive comments! ;)

LOL Mr. Hunt you're right, just jammed up with installing floorboards, heel shifter, handlebars, throttlemeister, mounting new luggage, getting saddlebags fixed etc.
Normally I love a trip to the shop, its 160,000 sq. ft. of motorcycle stuff!!

Well thanks, I was hoping to avoid the trip to the shop (110 mi R/T) because I'm leaving at the end of the week, but I guess its the right move.
I've put 110k on my bikes out here since 2003 and I only remember getting soaked once.
Unfortunately monsoons are sweeping through the next couple weeks so I want to be prepared just in case.
Vanguard I've been using a Widder electric vest in winter for 10 years and it makes all the difference in the world.
Haven't taken a long trip in a while so I'm pumped about this one.

Check your routing before leaving Flagstaff for Page, right now the main road is out and the detour is about 95 miles. Here is link to info. they are working on a shorter detour but delayed due to weather.

If you want a harry mountain ride, take 89A out of Prescott Valley thru Jerome and on to Sedona. That road through Jerome has hairpin mountain roads with no guard rail. Jerome sits at the top and homes are on the side of the mountain on sticks. Used to be an old mining town.

I lived in Prescott Valley and the first time I took my America over it I was VERY nervous:D:D:D

I'd be off to my local MC accessories shop and get sized up in your gear then head back to the wild world of the interweb for purchasing.

Yes you can do that or ask them if they will match the price, to many storys of people moaning about lack of shops or the sales person not wanting to help and I wonder why? I buy what I can locally even if it costs a few bucks more.

That's the best way to make sure you local, convenient MC accessory shop either stops stocking a full range or goes out of business. Where will you try stuff on then? Save a few bucks in the short term and pay the price later. Your call.

Good point

I use wet gear at work (not sure of the brand) but it definitely runs small. Maybe I run big?
