Hey Harry! :D Yea I know Danny Douglas at Douglas Triumph in San Bernardino. I established a "Professional" ;) relationship with him when he did the TORS download. (I knew where that was going) :D

I'd been to his shop eight months prior to buying my bike looking at his new 011 R3T. He was unable to take trades, so I waited. Anyway, he will most likely at the very least, let me ride it there and then back when the radiator gets in. It's a 'no brainier,' as you can see where it is seeping out. It started all in one day!!!! I'm going to borrow my HD tech friends' cooling system pressure checker and make It leak! And yes,,,,Harley has one water cooled bike.

Hey, once you get it fixed. I'm looking for a Black and White R3T. Meet you half way and get you a bus ticket home... HEHEHEHE:D

Funny man!

I've had the Harley's. Now they are everywhere. I wanted to be different. I sold my last one for a ZX14. Friends thought I lost my mind. What they didn't know here in Alabama was back in the day, my wife and I dated on Sport Bikes in So. Cali. I was stationed at Edwards and loved Angeles Crest Hwy. I am now 6'3" 270 48 years old and loved the ZX14. Friends quit talking to me so I switched to a 2008 Black and White R3T. Had it 3 days and rear end locked during emergency maneuver. Missed the car, but high-sided. Totaled bike. Now 1.5 years later want another. Since '09, Harley's look good. Just can't bring myself to getting sucked into that again. :D

I'm hoping this will not be my situation. So far,,,,,,I've had no problems. So far,,,,,.;) If it is I will go back to Harley.

Go on back to Hardley, they never break down or have any stator problems. They don't leak coolant either, just oil and you can't feel your nuts after 150 miles, 500 miles is torture. Triumphs are an acquired taste my friend. Having been on and around them since the 70's, this is a vastly superior product and as with all things made by human hands, it is not perfect. Hope you have better luck. I will tell you that if it is warranty and you fix it, good bye to the rest of your warranty. Thats just the way Triumph rolls. Take it to the dealer and make them buy you lunch. Most Harleys have fours times as many trailer miles on them than what the odometer reads. Jeez, you're givin' us colonials a bad name. Hang tough. Mules give you trouble, wives give you trouble, Schwinn's give you trouble, the government gives you troubles but yet you go on........................don't you?

Your one of the Elite Brigade

MS come on mate think positive, you was happy when you fitted the PCv + AT.. you helped convince me and now I am happy :D

Let me say to you MS Triumph supplied a full 09 engine update kit for my 05 in 2010 free of charge, granted I had to pay 20 hrs labour but my bike is great now its a 05/09 R3 :D

If your dealer is worth his salt he will fix it for you under warranty if it failed without interference.

What you say ?

(no dis-respect intended)

Problem solved

I HATE worm clamps!!!!! They do not maintain pressure like a band clamp. The top radiator hose clamp was loose, causing it to leak on cold mornings until the coolant heated up. The small amount of coolant was running down the top tank seam, making it look like the seam was leaking. Problem solved.

The Honda ST1300 is famous for this problem. But they usually take a couple of years to come loose. When I got the bike I went front to back tightening and checking every thing I could get to. The top hose clamp was the only hose clamp I could not get to with out removing the two top support bolts so I could pull the radiator back to get to the clamp.

Here we go. Let's not degrade this thread into a Harley bashing one. I still own a 2005 RK Custom. 20,000 trouble free miles. It was my first Harley after I retired. It's now my wifes' bike. I sold my trouble free, performance modified 107CI 07 Street Glide to buy the R3T. Like you I wanted to be different. I'm not a "Follower." But,,,the newer Harleys are just fine. They don't leak oil like the old ones. They run fine. The paint, chrome, powder coating and fit and finish are very, very high quality. The Harley of today IS NOT the Harley of yesterday! Most people who bash them can't afford them. And so it goes. Anyway,,,,my Rocket is now fixed, washed and full of fuel. Ready to ride!:D It's in the high 60's and clear,,,,no wind here. I rode to breakfast this morning.

Didn't see any Harley bashing - just Triumph bashing. One problem and you're saying "POS! I can't believe it!". Point was that switching to Harley or any other brand isn't going to guarantee no problems at all. You've had a great run with your Harley but that doesn't mean they're all good any more than one problem with a Rocket means they're all bad.

Glad to you got it sorted and the real positive to come out of it was the amount of advice and support you got from this site.

I won't unless you keep bashing my Rocket. As ye sew, so shall ye reap. Make sure Hell doesn't come to breakfast lefty.
