Radiator Cap Alternative

Yep, going with the EWP80, it has a long and reliable history in motor racing (including F1) for endurance cars, as well as a massive installed base since it's now an OEM pump on many electric vehicles.

Side benefit: Free power, lol. I'll do a pictured how to of the process, it seems pretty simple on our bikes to covert to an EWP.

Curious as to what your going to use to support the drive shaft end of the oil pressure pump hate to see it wobble and kick the drive chain to all three oil pumps off. You won't need to worry about post boil .

I’ve been thinking about that area that needs supporting. I’m looking to source a bad/used water pump so I can take it completely apart and have a better look at the back side of the impeller etc. if the impeller can be removed and the shaft remain in place it would still provide the support to the driven shaft and ensure the chain is stable.

In the mean time, I think I’m going to fit an EBP40 between the radiator and mechanical pump inlet. It will at least ensure there is some water circulation even if the mechanical pump is cavitating.

Recently I saw that someone had great success with an EBP25 on a GSXR 1000 after removing the mechanical pump, so I think the 40 should be a good auxiliary to the stock pump on the rocket.

The real root of the problem is the impeller it’s an ancient inefficient design, the best fix would be finding an impeller that fits properly using a better design. Something like the one below:
