Radar detector.......

My Son's ZX14R has a Brock's exhaust and has been flashed and a PCV was added and then dyno tuned. Put 201 HP to the ground. This bike was taken to Bonneville Salt Flats during Speed Trials week and officially timed at 197 MPH on the salt.

@Justdad was the owner/rider at the time. Here he is just before crossing the final timing mile finish line. Notice the flags straight out. High wind in the face prevented getting a run over 200 MPH. Buggers !!

Trying to wrap my head around this.....HTF can a naturally formed, granular based surface( salt), constantly being exposed to wind, and weather, be safe, solid, and level enough to test speed barriers???? I can’t get my new R3r up to 200 km/h safely on a straightforward paved highway, because it vibrates to much !!! WTF ?

I have always hoped some crazy Billionaire (JB,RB,EM) would build a complete motor sports park including a paved 10 mile straight away we could do our LSR on instead of the salt flats or dry lakes dirt.

I've had the R3 up against the limiter with an indicated 147 mph, you're definitely hanging on for dear life at those speeds. Now on my R1 back in the day I hit an indicated 191!!!

that was the problem i had with the GT, but if you have a really good pull, and clutch in just before the speed limiter kicks in the momentum will take you faster
I'm sorry, but that's not how momentum works. Momentum can't lead to further acceleration. If the speedo kept increasing, it was simply due to lag in the display. You had max velocity when the clutch was pulled.

Unless he was going downhill
