You still haven't answered my question!

What is the month/week that the RAA is planned so I can start warning my boss man? I guess if I kept up with sturgis I would know that huh? lol

Booze and bikes
Sturgis: 4 Dead in 3 days

The last part of July. No date has been established.

Voting is not over but it looks like Colorado.
May give it another month just to be fair.

We really enjoyed the MV event...met some great people and had a LARGE time, but I probably made my last "large" group ride in North Carolina. I think RAA should take the approach that the local host acts as a knowledge base for where to ride, etc but is NOT responsible for organizing or leading folks on any rides. Large groups of folks are difficult to keep together on a ride at best and given some of the "individualistic" tendencies in our group it could be **** near impossible. Getting the event together should be the sum total of the host's responsibilities IMHO. Make sure we organize the event in an interesting place and then let nature take it's course...just sayin...

I know one thing for sure!
Before we venture off very far from home we will have not one but two.( one for each of us) GPS systems. That getting lost and left behind sh$$ won't happen again

I like to hustle along and generally ride pretty hard; however, I also enjoy the challenge of riding in a nice tight group of good riders at a slower pace as well.

Participation in organized rides are always optional. The leader needs to know who and how many are going. The route and stops should be set before starting so those that prefer a slower pace can drift to the rear and shall always have the opportunity to catch up. No turns should be made until all are accounted for. If you change your mind and wish to break off inform the leader and those motors riding near you.

If the group is larger than say eight or ten, a second group can be formed or make up smaller groups based upon intended riding pace also works well.

It's all good and comradery is the main goal of these events. Folks can join in or remain individuals at their own comfort levels. Easy-Peazy

Just my 2 cents . . .

I came up with 5 possible loop rides around Ouray.
They do overlap some.
they range between 235-375 miles.
riding times (minus stops) 5.25-8.25 hours.

None of this is set...just possibilities...to give people a general idea of what I would do if I were planning this at the Ouray location.

dates July 26, 27, 28 (Sat, Sun, Mon)...travel to Ouray, CO
do this in groups or solo/highway or byway but plan to arrive on Monday 7/28/2014.

dates July 29, 30, 31 (Tue, Wed, Thur)...divide into like-minded groups &ride one of the suggested loops each day (or do your own thing, whatever).

Aug 1, 2, 3 (Fri, Sat, Sun)...travel home OR to Sturgis OR do a tour for another week before going home (which is my preference).

Since Sturgis starts on Mon the 4th, even those going there could join the touring group for a day or 2 before heading to SD.

Your the man!!!

Where we staying?

What do you need help with?
