If no one comes with me, may be a good option for me. Long way to drive or ride alone, fun maybe if I was single, retired, and wealthy, but a long time to be gone from home.

The standard GS is not so tall. I had one for several years. The Adventures are massive though. Last year Cliff's Cycle in Bremerton had a 700 GSA with about 100 miles on it. It was so tall I couldn't get my leg over it.
 
Lupe, we're still a bit far down the road but I generally have two bikes in the stable. I have three now, one a dual sport sidecar rig. My second is a 2007 Kawasaki Nomad. You will be welcome to use my second bike if you get yourself out here. It might be a Beemer or some such by then. I want a little bit lighter second bike for local riding but one on which I can still do multi state riding too.

That would be awsome Mike!, as you know i am an equal oportunity rider and i will ride a moped if needed, i will gladly take you up on that with the gentleman's agreement of "you break it you fix it"
