I have 16000Klms around 10000niles on my Avon Cobra Rear of my R3T and still have 40%thread left using a thread gauge I know the last 50%of tread does wear quickly but I think 15000miles is possiblethe previous Metz was gone in 8000Klms

Clavinger say who is putting down some traction hehe say excedra max although I saw another post he was sliding Avon cobras, hey when guys are purring down 260hp inquiring minds want to know

Doing my first tire change on my R3T. Running Avon Cobras. Use my Garmin GPS and their tire pressure sensors to monitor tire pressure. Run Avon's tire pressure recommendation of 38 psi front and 44 psi rear. When it drops below 37 psi/43 psi, I add air to get back to recommended psi. The rear tire is into the wear bars and the front tire is at 2/32nds in the center. I am a conservative rider in terms of take offs yet do enjoy dragging floor boards in the curves. (Wish the bike had more lean angle before the rails touch down.) Have 14,601 miles on the tires. I will be trying the Exedra Max due to recommendations on this board.

There is road I like to ride and it has tar snakes. It was a summer day and the front end slipped while going through a turn. Serious pucker moment. I had Michelin Commander IIs on my previous bike (Kawasaki Nomad) and they never slipped on that road. Being a bias ply tires, they have a stiffer sidewall so the tire passed along more vibration/jolts from the road compare to the Avon radial. I like that about the radial construction and that is why I am going to try the Exedra Max instead of the Commander IIs this time. Plan on trying different tires for a while with each tire change to see which I like better.

Just changed over to commander II's on mine and you're right about them not being as smooth as the radials. It's not horrible but definitely there.

240 hp here, no sliding problems with the Cobra's. I found the grip about the same as the Metz, they just last longer
