i tried Rivco risers on R3 touring but didn't fit. i have used highway Hawk instead.
These are fine. and take me up about 2 inches and back 1 to 1 and 1/2"
I just ordered a set finaly. They did do what I asked new photos and correct wording. Ok now has any one installed these yet I want to do it myself but with out disconecting any cabels by only taking cables out of the black clamps
I have my stock parts off awaiting UPS. They should be here within an hour or so. I'm guessing the clutch cable will have to be re-routed. With the bars hanging free right now it doesn't look like they'll come back far enough to fit the new parts. Also, look at the picture on Rivco's website. I only see one cable in the stock location on the left side.
I had 4" kickbacks for my Vulcan all we had to do is remove the cables from the black plastic clamps and off I went. I am hoping this will be the same way I just don't like the idea of disconecting any thing that could cause an issue. When you get your set on let me know I am sure it will be tight but tight is fine for me
Done. You do have to reposition the clutch cable behind the steering head. Just loosen it at the lever adjuster and pop it out. Pull the cable down through the slot and back up and pop it back in.
All in all a pretty easy install. I used a couple of tie down straps suspended from my garage door to hold the handlebar in place. Without a helper you need a way to secure the bar.
Should work out very well. Hopefully I'll get it tested out in a couple of days.
It probably took about an hour to reroute the cable and install the risers. I took the bars off earlier and that probably took about 20 minutes. I'm sure it could be done faster, but I tend to waste a lot of time. I didn't take any pictures, but the shot on Rivco's site is accurate. That's where I saw the re-routed clutch cable.
I will have some one hold the bars for me come friday when they come in hopefully it will make it about an half hour or so. I got to have something I am short and the bike is huge with me on it
I'm wanting to do this too. How much are the risers? Are they well made? I'm 5'10" and don't have to stretch, but do feel that I would be a bit more comfortable with them back a hair.
