R3T ride vs R3R ride

You can do a few modifications to a Touring and make a Roadster look like an Oscar Meyer weiner.
And still have the long distance comfort of the Touring.
not wanting to brag but mine punches out 157 Hp.

No thanks Tripp!! you got me beat with yours!, yours is Carpenterized...
Tripps , I was meaning to ask you...you had yours dynoed a year or 2 ago by some guy in Northwestern New York right? Did he do a good job? Do I need the Power Comander V for him to to tune it or can he do it without? Theres no one up here in Ontario that I trust to Dyno & tune mine.
If you have the name of the dyne shop let me know.

Great info everyone.
Thanks.

I have leaned:

A) They are two totally different machines.
B) Don't try to turn one into the other.
C) They both serve their purpose well.
D) We ride a giant hotdog!

My plan was not to try to pull parts off to make it a R3R.
Just trying to get the idea how close or how far apart the two brothers are.
We love the R3T for the ride and the ability to carry all we may need or want.

Thanks everyone!

God bless!!

Michael

You put it quite nicely...
I tell those that ask, motor, transmission and drive train the same, everything else different even the tune in the ecu...

No Carpenter did the dyno and installed the PCIV

Not even close. Riding positions are different, motor detuned on the Touring, rear tire difference effects traction and handling.
how to look at it from a performance perspective:

r3r:

r3t:

but the t does have that comfort thing going for it...
While the Touring may come from the factory like that I can promise you they do not have to stay like that..

YOU can add a Brute pipe and retune and make around 170 HP

my wife and I used to knock helmets on the Touring This never happens on the roadster

I confess that my initial thought was that you were saying there's much more room on the touring and/or that Adriana has been less, shall we say 'excited', by the Roadster.

Last 2 ladies that rode on the R3 both had other worldly experiences on the backseat... Something about seating position and certain rpms... But on the R3T they almost fell asleep... Will see if the R3R can live up to expectations...
