I have made a set of lower baffles. The material is a clear poly material. Very similar to plexiglass. My issue was finding brackets to go around the fork tubes. I believe a Captian from here gave me the idea. I used the metal bands used from chain link fence. I painted the bands with chrome paint. Not the finish I want but not terrible. Very effective at keeping the cold air off my legs. The overall look is better than most purchased products.

I see you're running a fairing so you lost your mounting point for the lowers that are part of the windshield mount. I had a fairing but decided I preferred my windshield better. My next project will be to see if I can fabricate some nice lowers that fasten neetly to the crash bars. You would think that engine would provide some warmth to the fronts of your legs in cold weather but not so much. I might try making a form and shaping them out poly in the oven. Maybe next summer.

FYI.... I do not find the heat of the rocket 3 to be excessive unless I'm im forced to be stopped in traffic on the highway on a hot day. With that said, it is no worse than sitting over a Harley engine and pipes. I like to experiment with things, so I made myself an identical set of lower R3T shields only a little larger and slightly longer. They are great for cool weather riding, but in the summer they did make for a warmer ride. They didn't affect the handling of the bike, but they did affect the temperature.

Ok, now for something completely different!

I see the forward engine bars in some of the thumbnails of personal rides. Has anyone ever covered these for warmer winter riding!

Yes, the only place that makes them I have found is Sagebrush... Sage Brush Triumph Engine Guard Chaps, motorcycle accessories/guard covers

Thanks Boog!
What about those handy dandy hand covers! Hate wearing winter gloves. Just want to wear my electric gloves and armored gloves! But the wind like to zip right thru those!

I thought the fairing would be an improvement from the windshield and the Lamar "lip". Honestly, I think the windshield might do a better job. I also got the covers for the highway bars. Big improvement with them. I guess the idea of removing the air off the lower legs really isn't a big deal for me unless I'm riding at or below 45 degrees F.

Those are from HippoHands and are an awesome bit of kit for cold weather riding. They do not collapse at regular freeway speeds (80-90 mph) and block all rain too boot. I have ridden two hours at 22F with regular gloves and my hands were still usable for work when I arrived that day.

Here's a side view of them...
