R3T derestricting

Hello,
I bought my 2011 R3T new in Feb. of '11 and have only 33K on it so far. I'm a night shift worker in FL, and do mostly long distance riding...usually @ night to beat the heat and traffic. I am a 2X Iron Butt Association Saddlesore 1000+miles in 24 hrs. and
I have my 4th Sturgis ride (2100 mi. each way) planned for August, on this bike I call "Blue" (named after the legendary ox of Paul Bunyan). Now that my extended warrantee has passed, I am doing minor customizing on the stock exhaust for tone and some volume ...with a beautiful free flow cross over pipe fabricated by Paul Bryant in NZ...just got it in the mail today!
I won't be stock ... but don't have slip-ons either... hoping to avoid TORS or D and D slipons to prevent volume increase to a fatigue level, for those long 850 mi/day average rides.
I am interested to gain that 30hp bump with a derestriction TUNE, and have received my Lonelec cables, and now just need to swap out the box with the x-over and load the correct map.
Is it fair to assume the TUNE ECU for stock or slip-ons is what I'll need for this custom crossover modification alone?

G'day and welcome FFA ,my tip get a set of TORS to compliment Pauls excellent cross over pipe, the sound is not obtrusive or tiring on long runs and avoids the worrying time at roadside checks by the RMS , I have passed through a RMS blanket(pull over ever bike) compliance check they just run the number recognition camera and a quick look and waved me on, one of our mates had non a yellow compliance notice plastered on his bike(canary)for non stock exhaust, and bypassed anti pollution piping on his Suzuki 109r,I don't want the problems

WELCOME @free4all from WA State.
Start your own newby post in the welcome thread.
This is a VERY old non intro thread.

Free4all,
Welcome !

I too have a 2011 R3T. In my humblest of opinions you need to do something to get more air into Blue in order to make use of the exhaust changes, and to come closer to the gains you are looking to get. I put the triple K&N filters under the bearclaw to get more airflow through the bike, and now have gone to the RamAIir filter hoping to squeak a little more out of mine.
If you are concerned about he increase of noise this alone will add some, as you will hear the intake a lot more as it is no longer muffled by all the duct work and under seat filter. There are some good TuneEcu tunes floating about that will help. But it would be my suggestion to also change your intake to allow Blue to breath deep.
Reach out to HansO here on the site and let him know what your are trying to achieve he is great resource for us when it comes to DIY tuning.

The cat is in the slip on for a stock touring, I would still recommend TORS for more flow, its not obscenely loud, but gives the bike a full note. @HansO is down with some health issues, P.M. me and I can send you the tune he sent me, its a tweaked version of the tune in this thread.

I say take the exhaust off and just run the stock header with a slip on with or without the baffle for the best performance and good looks the Viking slip on is great looking and youll lose a lot of weght along with the increase in power

Thank you.
Will that tweaked TUNE still work for me even without the slip ons?
