R3R with Staintune Performance Exhaust Tune

Jason,
The best thing to do is get a Dyno tune done.
Next best thing would be send @HansO a PM.
Although he is in the US at the moment doing RAA X.
(Lucky Bastard)
Cheers Mittzy,

I will get it on a dyne but I'll need to wait a bit for the whole shock of the actual purchase to pass with my wife... ha ha.

Im sure that will make a massive difference, any recommendations for dyne tuners in Melbourne?

Personally I think (though that's all it is, an "I think") a Jardine appropriate tune should get pretty close, assuming the air intake is also altered. But of course as stated already the good solution is to put the bike on a dyno.

Air intake is still stock so I might see how the dealer aftermarket pipe tune goes and take it from there. Dyno wont be too far away....

The Ramair filter for the R3 was quietly redesigned and re-issued in a version that solves the teething problems with the first one - or at least, should. Might be something to consider if you have aftermarket pipes, more air in means more power out.

Cheers cr0ft,
sounds like a good idea, definitely will have to look into prices here etc. any particular part number that i should search for? I'd like to keep the stock look if I can but I'm open to suggestions.

The beauty of the Ramair solution is that it fits neatly under the bearclaw on the left side of the bike but still gives better airflow than the stock giant snorkel.

http://ramair-filters.co.uk/triumph-rocket-iii-filter-kit/triumph-rocket-iii-r3-air-filter-kit.html - and the other day when I ordered, the code 10OFF gets 10% off. Personally I also picked up one of their cleaning and re-treating kits, on the optimistic assumption that this filter will last years. Was a busy few days so haven't even gotten mine mounted yet, but it looks great now after the tweaks they did.

Hi cr0ft,

That does look good, does the bear claw then just go back on as normal?
I will definitely look at this into the future when I can spend more money without causing a divorce Ha Ha...

Cheers

I have had the Stain Tune exhaust for about 4 years. When I first fitted them to the bike there was a lot of over run back firing which is there with the stock exhaust but you just don't hear it as much. Then I loaded the Wayne Tripp tune, from the best I can recall the tune did remove most of the back firing but then I purchased the PCV and put in Hanso 20 AF tables and this eliminated all the back firing.

Then the Ramair intake kit.

Hope this helps
