Education is important. Motorbikes are importanter
I have been slowly modifying my R3R, Ruby.
Triumph have designed a fantastic bike, but for me all that torque makes me want a better riding position.
To that end I have changed the seating position and handlebars resulting in a much more upright riding position. The bike has been transformed. Feels like a much more neutral position than the very laid back cruiser pos of the Triumph design team.
One aspect that had me scratching my head, was the foot peg position. Rearsets were going to be impossible with the stock muffler outlets protruding so far.
With some inspiration provided by Jagster, thank you mate, I was sent along the path of a new muffler that will allow me to move the pegs back.
A $50 second hand muffler, four days of cutting and welding and I now have a Triumph hybrid.
A stock but heavily modified Triumph Thunderbird muffler has transformed Ruby, again.
Next step, look into the pegs.
