I did it wrong. In a few minutes of an aluminum plate made tool. Take out the tiles no problem using the screw holding the rollers. Never take out more than one cup at a time. IMAG0339.jpg

Now THAT'S worth a go!!!

I know this thread is old but, having just bought a new Rocket III Tourer and because I always do all my own work on all my machines, I'm wondering about this tool and it's not clear from reading the entire thread whether anyone here has actually used one or if it even exists. Does anyone know if such a tool is available and, even better, does anyone actually have one and used it? If so, where can someone get the tool. I'm skeptical about it but I just have to check it out. Thanks.

I made one and it does work. It requires a bit of finesse to make it work. If you have to replace more than one or two shims it would be easier to remove the cams. With the tool you can only remove one shim at a time. If you rotate the engine with a shim removed it breaks the top of the bucket follower (don't ask :().
