R3 touring bags on a classic/roadster

you guys must be mind readers, as I just ordered leds last night....
I love the 8790s, I mean the 8690s (5.75 for my bike) but that might be a Christmas gift

Anyway, super secret squirrel stuff. I will post results etc when they show up if they are all I am expecting after mountains of research.

Yeah, I barely got my 8700 Evo II onto the bike and I already want to sell it and get the adaptive. Because, indeed, turning with the 8700 even with driving lights on is somewhat scary, you can't see a thing up to the side. So either this, or spend $5-600 on some Clearwaters with a round beam pattern.

Though why the heck the 7 incher would be 1000 lumens weaker than the 5.75 incher eludes me.

Congratulations for having the passion and foresight and then for having the guts to take the job on. Nothing better than coming up with a plan to customise and then to make it happen. I have to say that I reckon $1500 actually seems bloody cheap for what you've achieved. I wouldn't have been surprised if you had said it was double that amount. Well done.

Great job! Nice pics of your work. It's nice have a one of a kind. Doing your own custom mods if you have the ability is half the fun of owning a Rocket.

Looks great, paint it 2 tone blue and a single headlight and then you will have something. :p

Thanks man! If only there was a way to put the gauges on the handlebars, I might have put up with the single headlight and the skinny rear tire and just bought a touring!
