35mm should be around an inch, correct? That should be long enough - are they measured 35mm?

Good Idea..I just measured the bolt.. .the one I have is only 20mm long. That would probably explain why. I need at least the 35mm or longer ones. I probably received the wrong part.

As long as I can get a longer version at the hardware store I think that will be OK, just wanted to make sure these kind of bolts are easily available.

35 mm is well over an inch. 1 in = 25.4mm.

Try to buy stainless steel bolts, they will look good for a long time.

coarse pitch bolts ... found everywhere even at home depot in every size and length.
