Any ideas on how to make Corbin's Beetle Bags easily removable? The Easybrackets won't work and I can't find anything out there. I have the system idea I just don't know where to get the parts. If I could find something like the hardware that Harley uses for their Roadking Classic it may work. On the bottom of the Beetle Bags is a bolt that screws into a bracket that attaches to the rear foot peg assembly. This is easily handled with just a threaded pin machined round smooth on the top and orientated so the bags just slip over it rather snug and that will stabilize the bottom of the bag. Now we just have to fix the situation with the two top attachments. By using the same system that Harley uses on their leather bags on the Roadking but reversed. Mount some threaded pins into the Rocket and use the clips that attach to the pins with a twisting action from the inside of the Beetle bags. But where to find such clips? I could suppose get some hardware from Harley and bring them to a tool maker and get them made up, We have a good local tool maker right here in Naples which is what I may do.

I'd like to remove them easily when I want to, it's easier to take the seat off with them out of the way.

Here's the Quick Release System for the Corbin Beetle Bags

First you start with a 2" 3/8" SS bolt and a 1" bronze bushing

Then you mount the bolt into your lower bracket and tighten real good

And then you dremel off just the hex part of the head of the bolt and round the tip and make it look like a 50 cal. bullet. This (docking station) will fit nice and snug in the bottom hole of your bags (you may have to use the appropriate drill bit to your Corbins to match your bullet docking station.

Then you use 2 nylon 3/8"x 2" wing nuts to secure your bettle bags, use a lock washer and check them often in the beginning to see if they loosen. You may also need to space your bags with nylon washers appropriately to get your bags straight.

Here's a pic of how simply the seat attaches to the rear fender.

One thing I noticed when taking my bags off, my Prog 440s were starting to corrode and rust. Gave them a little attn. Looks like I'll by taking my bags off more often now to do some cleaning and wheel washings  I can remove a bag in under 30 seconds, that's what I was looking for.

Sure is nice to be able to remove these bags in a jiffy for the convenience to bring them into a hotel with you or for cleaning your wheels, dealer maintenance, changing brake pads, etc. I'm surprised nobody has commented or is interested in doing this mod

Although I can definitely see the value in making them quick release I like the look of the bags on the bike and dont see myself removing them very often. I would like bag liners with handles though to take items into the motel at night...

I don't want to remove them for appearance reasons. I like to take my bags off to clean around the wheels and drive. And now being quick and easy I'll actually clean and wax back there more often. I probably saved my Progs 440 from really getting badly pitted and how they got bad is because I didn't want to take my bags off to do a routine cleaning.

Can't use liners due to the interior shape being weird. Liners wouldn't be big enough to carry anything. Handles could be installed on the inside panel facing the tires. HMMMMMM  I'll see what I come up with
