Project bike wanted.

Went and checked out a 1962 650 Tiger 110 yesterday , Bath-tub model. 90% there , motors never been unbuttoned, unbelievable. Owner wants good money for it but it's a pretty rare bike. He's got 60+ unrestored British bikes in his shed. Place is like Wonderland ;)
Bath-tub models look awesome restored a guy in Narooma has one it is done in a sky blue :)

Personally i think the '62 Tiger 110 is the un-prettiest of all the duplex frame pre-units .. bathtub and nacelle tinware is near perfect.

Richard it's a bit like Nabiac .. picking only one to wheel out would be hard.

TC was that locally and any chance I can get a peek at them?

Yes Al it's local .. i can ask him. He's pretty cagey about who he allows into his shed ... as you can imagine. I've known him for a long time .. get back to you ok mate ;)

understand totally TC. We have a guy in Warwick that has the largest collection of bikes and spares in the southern hemisphere, I think they are Yamaha. He bought the total stock when the distributor went broke. Everything is '70's and '80's.
His shed is probably 40 X 20 metres...the whole back wall is pallet racking and is full of packing crates with brand new complete motors, exhaust systems, gearboxes etc. We had a Ulysses run to his place one Sunday, one of our members is a friend of his and he allowed us a look. He had 3 complete bikes he had put together, showroom condition and one registered. The floor was full of complete bikes and not enough space to park a box trailer. I was speechless for the first 15 minutes, never seen such a collection in my life.

Alan Chance rebuilt the motor in my last early Triumph, a 68 Bonnie .. he insisted you lap the cases if you wanted him to do your engine build. He had this big sheet of thick glass and a tin of paste. Had it set up in the back of his tin shed .. man i f#ckin sweated lapping all the alloy on that engine . It never leaked one drop of oil though ;)
bottom back bolt on primary hardest to stop leaking imo

Just went past All Bikes in Moss st and by the looks they have a 70-71 Tiger in there.. In interested

I've found 3 or 4 good local buys .. just got to talk myself into letting go of my Speedie , proving difficult
