Progressive 444 geometry

Start by setting your sag at 20% of shock travel, then fine tune from there.
rear shock travel 105mm X 20% = 21mm Race sag (with rider & gear aboard).

When I had sports bikes I always raised rear to get better front response (even with old blade that has smaller front wheel) I was tempted to on the R3, but I was a little concerned about the swing arm clearances. Will be good to get some views.

The clearance issue I saw was with the cat on the classic. No cat no issue I guess. yet another reason to remove the cat

OK, wil try the 2cm setting. It's been too cold for to get in the garage. 50s.

Does anyone make a set of brackets that just extend the mount point, maybe allow a variable length. I believe the YSS shocks allow 5mm adjustment.

Thanks, I was experimenting with brackets to lift the suspension points 25mm, my objective was to get more ground clearance. I got very close to the cat. I see that the available shocks are only 12mm longer (13") .

I've got a decat pipe this last week, so may try again with the brackets.

I have +30mm shocks fitted without issue, though, I no longer have the cat box in place. Switching to the 240/55 and the +12mm shocks will get your geometry to a fun but stable place.

There's a kit available somewhere for that air ride, I've seen it a few times pop up on ebay as a listing.

17mm overall (12mm from shock and 5mm from tyre) that's compelling, I may have rethink

The Progressive 444 shocks went on without the need to add any inserts in the bushings. Preset them with two bars of preload. The manual talks about rings. There are bars and grooves. As long as they are similar I think it is OK. Very little sag upon sitting on the bike. Felt kind'a stiff until I got to take some pumps. The road harshness is just gone. The rear arm swings but the bike does not. I like them. They are pricy but my back is saying thanks just on a 1/2 hour ride. If you are riding stock shocks on your Rocket do yourself a favor and spend $600 bucks on a set of these.

Tomorrow Ill work on the stepper linkage removing mod and reconnect the motor and wash the Rocket. It is filthy. It would make Ms Wendy proud.
