Paint and finish concerns

Someone once ran over a can of marker paint next to my car in a movie theater parking lot. The paint thing looks like road spray, as others have said, but the "pitting" on the other parts is a little concerning. Are you in a particularly salty environment?
 
did you remove the tail section and put on a tail tidy, if so maybe the pitting is being caused by the tire throwing up road debris, sand and such, just throwing it out there, weather hasn't been good enough to put many miles on mine yet, but i did look and don't show any of that
 
Ok. Thanks for the replies all. Bike is stock and has the original crud catcher still attached. The brushed steel looks like it needs maintaining and will try a high quality polish

The "stuff" on the exhaust is definitely coming from the paint flake. I have managed to get a better picture and it shows that the particles are sprayed over other parts also

You can see the arrowed area to the left of the exhaust in the second picture

The dealer is picking it up tomorrow for first service so will raise it with them and see what they say

I'm surprised your dealer is still working - all shut here..
 
.....might have ridden thru something on the road that you didnt see...that looks like paint flicked up to me..
keen to hear what has caused it...
