Some background. The bike has been sitting for 2+ but less than 3 years do to my shoulder and knee replacemet along with chemo just to add to the problems getting it out.. I have been starting every couple of months and letting it come up to temp and run for 10-15 minutes. Gas tank is full and has an enzymatic treatment and Seafoam in it. It has Ramair, TORS and was the bike the Nels tune was originally done on.

I went out to start it today and the idle was very rough and with slight throttle it stalled a couple of times. It starts back up but is idling about 800 PM, almost loping at times. It it also popping on addition of throttle and popping when off the gas.

I am thinking prolonged sitting has gummed up the fuel injectors as I can't think of much else.

I am now seeking the wisdom of the hive mind with any other ideas and how hard is it the pull the injectors and send them off for cleaning (and where).

My knee is good, my shoulder is OK and I am nearing the end of this round of chemo and I want to get out. I have been cooped up way too long.

Here is a video of it doing its thing.

I am open to any and all suggestions. I guess if all else fails it could go up for sale but that is not something I would like to do.

TIA

It sounds like its missing, can you take it out and burn off that tank of fuel and add another and see if it doesn’t straighten up. I think after sitting so long a good run may help it. If it doesn’t the injectors are easy and r c injectors is one place i and others have used and like.

It is missing big time. That is what made me think fuel for sure, injectors gummed up possibly.

Believe I'd siphon the gas from the tank and put in enough fresh to get you to a station to refill. Check primary tps and balance the cylinders. Injectors are relatively simple to remove and install. Good luck

I’d take it out and run the piss out of it. Redline in every gear for hours. That ought to fix it.

This, 100%. Take it out and give it hell for a few hours, a proper Italian tune. It is the funnest repair you will ever do. After that if the problem persists start to look into it more, you don't want to dig into a problem that may clear with a decent ride.

Repeating some of what has been suggested with a few additions, in no certain order...

New gas - most likely
Fuel filter
Stepper motor- if this, the problem should go away when warmed up
TPS - always a suspect
Coil wires need to be crimped (small ones)
vacuum hoses and/or caps on throttle bodies are cracked
Clean and lube throttle bodies
Gear position sensor

Where is the fun in all that repair work when a bit of fresh fuel run vigorously through it might make all the problems go away. Now after a good ride if the issues persist I’d check all that stuff you mentioned.
