oil presure light flickers

i drove it to work and it had been setting for about 4 hours. estimate 85-90 degress

CAME IN TO WOrk 10 miles (hot) tried the starter and the oil light went off with about 4 complete turns of the engine. i would guess that the engine is turning about 300 rpm.
you are not going to be able to use a banjo fitting because the sender will not have long enough threads.
the problem with raising the idle is you may not have enough pressure in the higher rpm range. the only way to know is to plumb a gauge in to the hole. 10mm a little bigger than 3/8, 11mm=7/16,12mm a little smaller than 1/2 inch, 13mm close to 1/2 inch,14mm a little smaller than 9/16.15mm a little bigger than 9/16. hth

I tried your test and got the same results as you did so I know the bearings aren't over clearance and the engine it's tight. Looks like the sensor has an intermittent short. I would like to try to have both the light and guage if possible. I should be able to find a duel port fitting to allow this like I did on my Harley
