Oil change woes. Help please!

About this washer thing. I have been using new ones every oil change but I have to say I feel a bit stupid for doing so. This has nothing to do with the cost but only the PIA of having to get them from my dealer each time when the old ones look absolutely PERFECT! I use a torque wrench each time so I'm not squashing the aluminum washers so why the need for constant replacement? The manual calls them "crush washers" but they are certainly NOT crushed at all.
Please enlighten this old codger.

Copper is a soft metal. It will deform a bit to an uneven surface. So that is why you can reuse them.

Hell; I've re-used crush washers as well.

if you re use a copper washer heat it red hot with a gas torch or over the flame of the kitchen stove then chuck it in some water

it was two scots guys who first made copper wire after pulling a penny coin apart so we can see your concern about the cost of the washers

go to a hydraulic supplier and get a bunch Has anyone tried using DOWTY washers these have a rubber seal incorporated on the inside bore and an ALOOMINUM outer ring
