Official RAA Texas Thread

Glad your bike is back together and running good. We did have a great time other than TexCav's little get off, but in the end everything worked out pretty good

I had great time, it was very different rhan all the RAAs, food was great , company was great, weather was not that great but we rode anyway!
On my qay back i earned rhe tough as hell award for riding 500 miles in the rain!!

Nice work setting this up, Cowboy. Wish I coulda made it.
I would like to know more about this "twisted sisters" ride.
Can you give me particulars so I can check it out with Google Earth?

The route we took was:
Leakey, Tx west on 337 to Camp Wood, North on 55 to Barksdale, 335 to 41, east on 41 to 336, south to Leakey, Tx, east on 337 to 16 in Medina, north on 16 to Kerrville, west on 27 to Ingram, south west on 39 to 83, south on 83 (Frio River Road) back to Leakey, Tx.

Glad you were paying attention ! My answer would have been "uh, we rode some cool roads with twisties and roller coaster hills. Part of the time we were in Africa".

Coonass (Clint & Valerie) took a slightly different route at the end.

When we rode together last Sunday, every time I dug in my bags I'd pull out the bandana with the map and wave it at Valerie. I think she kept saying I was number one

What Nolton said. If you decide to make a run let me know...I can be there in 4 hrs

As I have said many times, hwy 39 is my favorite ride. Even more than the 3 sisters. Good to hear others enjoyed it too and glad to have had the lead in the "Africa ride".

Some may not know about Google Earth program. I suggest you download it if you do not already have it. You can do as Bull suggests and follow the route at street level.

No Sh*t roller coaster hills. A bit more challenging than N.C. roads. Too fast and you bottom out the springs or top a hill with a hard right and no guard rails. Then you have to wonder about the depth of water running across the road after a rain. Fun Sh*t !!!!!!!!!
Its somewhat disconcerting to be rolling along and see Zebra and Giraffe looking at the bike behind you. Then you see the sign that warns of free range !!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone needs to ask Coonass about map preferences.
