Thruxton is a known quantity as that bike is in production and on sales floors. The TFC version is the same machine with a few bolt on upgrades, a fancy paint job, and a shiny number plate. So one can speculate that Price = Base Model + Bolt-ons + number plate markup. Rocket is still in testing so they don't have the base model price for it yet. Triumph probably has a number in mind, but they're holding it until a more formal reveal to increase interest and attendance to their press conference. I'll be surprised if they haven't revealed MSRP for the Base model by the time they reveal the price for the TFC.

Limited edition on first year of basically a new bike? Come on folks think about the progression of the Rocket. Started out with a few problems that over time Truimph fixed. What makes you think this bike is any different? Only this bike you will need to deposit a arm and leg for. I have a 2010 twin cam Harley. When Harley first came out with the twin cam there where numerous design flaws but over the years They fixed the issues. So what am saying is manufactures come out with new designs and most of the time problems that did not appear in the engineering department show up rather quickly in the real world. Two dollars to a doughnut the same will happen with this bike. I am glad to see the Rocket continue but have a lot of reservation about buying one. Hopefully in time Truimph will come out with a Rocket that is made for the everyday motorcycle rider. What i mean by everyday is a bike that is practical to use as daily commuter and for the weekend trips. This ain't it. Looks mean and sharp but wherein the he#3 would you bag your cold weather gear and lunch? You getting my drift here? This special addition stuff is OK i guess but none of the bikes appear to be really designed for heavy use. More or less just for a Sunday afternoon ride. I guess that is OK but for some of us that look at riding not only for fun but a everyday event this just ain't going to work out well. Come on Truimph. We don't need a bike parked outside the bar while you sit there sipping your drink going "Yea man that's mine" Harley's already have that market.:roll::roll::roll::roll::roll::roll: You posted while i was typing Blackthor but same theme and idea. Just am a bit more long winded. Forgot something "Bet you the ECU is Locked"

But this is the way the industry is going Sonny; naked bikes. Look at the new Harley lineup. There are some real beauties there.
I read another on line article about the trend yesterday. The engine configuration is pretty much the same so it's a reasonable assumption that Triumph has incorporated all of the fubar lessons learned from earlier years to prevent a repeat of the those failures.

I'm with you though on utility. Definitely a bar hopper, and one that will impress everyone within 50 square miles. It's not one I would ride every day though or even on a 3 day ride. It would be high on my "10 coolest bikes I'd love to have list" list though.
Stunning!

A new video was released on the bike today. The rider did not fit the picture of those i have seen on rockets at all. Imagine that. The crowd they are bidding for in the sales pitch does not exist. Yes we look at it and go "cool looking bike but" The others will buy Harley's and Indian's and ride their fashions and image over substance very well. Don't expect to run a cross very many on the open road.

Talking to a young guy in his 20's today..works at a bike shop and he's wrapt with it...'love one of them' he said...maybe the TFC Rocket is aimed at the younger guys and the follow up Roadsters and tourer. ..if they come...will suit us older riders better..Personally, I like the new look but will hold back until the follow up bike comes on the scene....like a few of you guys, I'm not sure about the arse end look or the narrow bars .....but that's about all ...oh, and I couldn't put a backrest/ rack on there I don't think either....still, it's early days...and I can't stop looking at the photos!!
