Off to sunny Queensland!!

see I told you should have come up for RDU we had great weather :D

Seriously thu, .. have fun and stay save and I sure the weather will clear for you:cool:

Oh what a beautiful day it was to cruise up to Maroochydore, pick up the navigator from the airport and continue through to Hervey Bay.

Thanks to whoever sorted the weather out for me, had a warm day today at the AGM and touring around checking the sights etc, just have to decide where to have dinner tonight now, oh the stress of it.

Cheers,
The Kiwi.

See I told it would clear .... you sent it down here .... much welcomed Rain falling here this evening ... been a bit dry down here lately :)

After the wet day in Brisbane, the weather cleared and the only rain we experienced for the whole week was while we were on a bus trip to the distillery at Bundaberg. Sharon and I had the pleasure of meeting Big Marty and his lovely lady Cath on 2 occasions, Friday for lunch and at the gathering in Maryborough after the Grand Parade on Saturday.

We had a cool morning to head 200 Km's back to the airport in Maroochydore on the Sunday morning, dropped the boss off to fly home (someone has to go to work) and I headed south to stay with friends in Brisbane (It was Mal and Tina who inspired me to buy a Rocket... Thanks guys!!).

Monday morning rush-hour traffic in the west of Brisbane towing a Camper was an experience best never repeated, 19 Km's in 70 minutes!!! I got into 3rd gear on just 3 occasions!!!!!!!!!

Ipswich, then south to Warwick, the road was being dug up at regular intervals and lots of trucks.... Then I struck the short climb up the escarpment, wow!! what a blast!!! worth the trip just to ride that short climb. I nearly went back down so I could do it again!!!!

A night in Moree soaking in the hot pools and on to Lightning Ridge to visit with my Sister and Bro in Law. Dawn Parade on ANZAC Day morning and breakfast afterwards.

580 Km run to Bathurst on Friday and home via Oberon and Goulburn on Saturday.

4082 Km's and the 06 Classic ran like the precision instrument that it is!!! I couldn't ask for a better ride.

I just have to spend about 5 months back at work to save up for the next trip away.

Cheers,
The Kiwi.
PS I am spending the day tomorrow cleaning 4000 Km's worth of dead bugs of the Rocket.

Only saying to Ann the Big Bugger should be getting back home soon, haven't had the pleasure of one of the big mugs visits for a while. Good to hear you had a good run, never much fun in any peak hour no matter what city when towing ... bit hard to slip up the side with the extra width!!:)

Glad to hear you got home safe and well Mal, would have liked to have caught up with you in Brissy, but I left the country basically the same day you arrived.
Good post mate.

Know what you mean about the climb up the escarpment ( Cunninghams Gap) .. great bit of road that does make you want to turn around and do it again :D glad trip went well and you're home safe.
