I had Carpenter do a bit more than the basic build...had the transmission sent out to Robinson to be undercut, including their billet 4th gear and had the head studded with Carpenter's custom studs. You also have to add in the cost of either their sidewinder or street rod custom exhaust pipe. I wanted the hayabusa clutch pack, but the beefed up clutch springs will do the job. At the moment I still have the OEM recommended size tires. Not if you’re retired and skint!! Oh that’s me!
As long as you’re satisfied with the value for money, that’s all that counts mate.
Mine goes on the Dyno this Friday as I’ve fitted a Dave Platt exhaust and a K+N filter on the induction trunking. Just to smooth out the throttle, loose the Cat, Lamba sensor and the restriction on the gears. That going to cost around £450 (@$700US), so cheap compared to the work you’ve had done.
So what tyres are you guys running with these big power engines?
