You have both?? What the heck, now all you need is the 210 to round out your resume. Seriously, thanks for your input. I was wondering how different the 240 and 265 are. I never even considered the 265, but the 240 option remains on the table. I guess cost does play a part to which build I go with. I want the transmission back cut so that'll add to the package total. Good to hear from someone who has both.
I went nuts when I found out Carpenter existed and just had to do it. The cost between the 210 and the 240 isn't huge because you'll have to have them throw a pipe on there.
I have been trying to find with little success the 4 dyno maps from stock to the 210,240 and 250+ builds. I'm sure they are here but there has been QUITE a bit of interest in the difference of them and i would LOVE to see an overlay of all 4 of them
I'd be interested in seeing that video...I got a OTD quote of $9140.00 from Carpenter about a month or so ago for the 240 build, that includes the PC6, K/N filters and their pipe. Back cutting the transmission and the billet 4th gear (and possibly the 'Busa clutch pack) will easily bring it over 10K
Even with the shop labor, its worth every penny in both the quality of workmanship and the fact that its still less $$$ than buying a motorcycle that can be a comparable ride. Most of the guys i know on the "track" have motorcycles in the 30K to 50K price range ... the very competitive professional rider... heck i prices out quality USED track gear for 5 seasons at $4 grand that factors crashing into the $ math.
My point is that 20 grand (with the cost of the bike originally plus a full out build from carpenter is actually cheaper than buying a pro level bike apples to apples.
