Number of Rockets on the Street, USA, Worldwide

we've had 2 harley dlrs add Triumph dealership's to a dedicated section of the floor and i'm seeing more triumph's than ever, 9 out of 10 are still harleys. I always get excited to see a R3 though. Last nite in a parking lot a guy walks up and asks me if the triumph is mine? it's the only bike in the lot and there's 20 people standing around I thought i dressed casual. anyhow my wife fielded the question and replied "we wanted a bike to ride, harley's are for parking in the garage so you can tell everybody yea I got a harley" impressed, waiting for his reply his buddy spoke up and said "just like you bill". Bill did the math in his head said "I average 300 miles a year" and walked away. a proud moment for me.

I have yet to see a single Rocket in my hometown. But about half the riders I do meet at the gas station want to sit on mine, ten percent wonder where my boyfriend is, and the rest are emasculated by my beast. *at least they are in my imagination*:x3:
I recently heard at my local Triumph dealership that roughly a third of the Rockets shipped so far were to the states. That doesn't say anything about the American mindset, now does it?

Ps... I have no idea what that smiley means

Pretty sure that's the butt-squeeze icon .. :cautious: ..... what ?? :p

Seems like a lot of cops or ex-cops ride Rockets in the States .. all the stars and planets have to be lined up to meet a friendly cop , in my experience anyway.
I've been in law enforcement for over 20 years, as for cops and their preference in bikes, it seems that the ones who ride H-Ds seem to want to evoke that "Bad Boy" image. A lot of them want to be in an MC like the Blue Knights or perhaps a Christian club, and they want to look like they are right out of Sons of Anarchy for some reason. Those cops who eschew H-D for Triumph (and yes, a lot of cops do choose Triumph) are perhaps more concerned with performance and reliability rather than looking like a pirate. As for your experiences with cops, I'm not even gonna go there.

Well said, Brother.
I ride for the fun and the rush. Same reasons I spent 23 years on the job.
@TOMCAT - FYI
An ex-cop is one who was fired - kind of like an ex-wife. :eek:
Real coppers are merely active duty or retired.

Makes sense that it's the one that looks like my thinking face. Never said I don't have *insert analogous invective for poop* for brains.

Yesterday a toddler launched herself at me as I was exiting the store, grabbed onto my helmet, and started chanting "where bike, where bike" there may be one more R3 on the road here in... at least thirteen years. I vote her coolest kid with no sense of stranger-danger ever.

If anyone has a friend high up in the insurance business, that friend could possibly check with other insurance companies and get a rough estimate of how many R3's are in the USA.
:x3::x3:

You did explain that to me before Bull .. cop .. ex-cop thing .. the saying here is " once a cop always a cop" .. so I guess you are right.

I don't get that...do they actually ask to sit on it??? as for the boyfriend bit, i reckon a "why, do you reckon i need a ***** on the back" would go down a treat. :D

Yeah, I did once actually trade bikes for a loop around the block with a dude that had a Honda Fury, that was nifty. I think that It's a strange kind of flirting combined with, or solely, an assumption that I'm not as possessive as a guy... If they had mothers they should be much more leery of trying to touch my bike... moms can be scary:cautious:... I'm an adult, and i still do as I'm told.
