Not tyres again

personally tired of going through metz every year. going with the Avon Cobra's. I used them on my old Kawasaki 1500 never a problem, lasted for many miles (18,000)

The Shinko 757 150/80/17 is the best front tyre I have had on any bike for a long Time, I tend to be rather hard on my Tyres as I love to push the boundaries in the twisties and the Shinko is up to the job with flying colours I was able to scrape the pegs even before I had done 20klm's on it, the surprising thing is that it also lasts longer (9,000klm) and makes the bike turn into corners faster than either of the two metzlers (best of two was 7,000klm) ever did no matter what air pressure I was running and to top it of 2/3 of the price......bonus as I buy for quality not price, I just ask what's going to give me best grip.... My life is worth more than a few dollars that why I also run a darkside as I know could never push a bike tyre as hard as I do the car tyre but I know you are not interested in DS so will say no more

If you get tired of buying expensive shoes for her twice a year or more, think about going over to the dark side. 225/55 car tires work very well on these bikes.

thanks HellFire ....... but I'm more than happy to stay with motorcycle tyres for my Rocket :D ............. however I might seriously consider a car tyre for the rear if I was going to tour all the way around Australia and didn't want the hassel of trying to source a compatible motorcycle tyre in the middle of nowhere ....... there is an awful lot of Australia that still is in the middle of nowhere

tyres

has anyone tried these bridgestones
240/55/vr16
and 150/80/r17
regards mitch

Pretty sure I'll have one on the back in about a month. Like the look of the front too. Lanzol has (or had) one on Blackie and couple of others have mentioned in this thread that they either have or intend to give them a go. All reports I've seen have been positive.

Mal, Joes does the rear for $410 fitted. I reckon Mitch will have a better price up there.

Years ago I had some fat Pirellis on the back of an HR which I recall were nicely rounded - but alas no longer made. Just today I remember what they were called - CN36 - so I did a google and found this pic. They're 235-60x13 (the same size I had). These 4 are brand new, albeit bloody old, for $75 a piece. If I could find them in the right size I'd put one of these on the back no worries. Pity.
