Not a pretty sight in the morning so had to cage the R3

I carry a small hand pump ,no not a bicycle pump but a 1/2 size regular pump it fits in my panniers with my tyre repair stuff, strings, pressure pack tyre repair plugs ect, and have repaired a few punctures over the years, using various methods ,but a good supply of air means you can have a few goes at the repair or limp home stopping as required
one failure that will leave you stranded is a split valve stem, a real PITA to replace on the side of the road ,it pays to replace these every time you get a new tyre for the small cost involved they do deteriorate, good tyre places do it routinely without being asked,

Spoke to Bubz awhile ago and he has a very small compressor, he said by the time you have a smoke its nearly up. Ill suss out one I think
Wonder what sort of repair kits other Captains carry

I just carry plugs and few CO2 bombs (clearly nowhere near enough but so far I've been able to get a plug in before it went completely flat). Might look into getting a compressor but am a bit concerned because I don't want to have to take up smoking.

I had a small compressor (a reasonable quality one) that I carried around for a few years ,one day having nothing better to do I got it out and tried it ,with all the vibration it had rattled apart internally and was useless lucky it was in the shed not when I would have needed it ,so the 1/2 size pump is my choice , maybe better ones around now.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. What a way to ruin a weekend. The sorry-ass Metzlers are paper thin and anything will go through them including a bolt. This one removed from the last Metzler that will ever be on my Rocket.

Here is what I use. I got to try it out (albeit in the garage). Worked like a champ. Compressor took about 20 minutes to pump up totally flat tire, but it didn't overheat or run down my then 8 year old battery.

That is what I have on which ever bike I am riding... plus a few CO2 cans to speed up the initial few psi's... had to use it twice on my rockets...

That kit looks pretty good. I like the way it seals against the inner side of the tyre

I'm not keen on the smoking part either @CanberraR3
