Northern NJ R3 Owners

Hey all
I want to plan a ride as soon as the weather is good. I know some of you expressed a desire to hang out prior to riding, but what better way to get to know each other than during a ride. If intersted let know and I'll start planning it ASAP.

Lifelong Biker:

I would strongly urge you or anyone else with a Triumph to avoid Trebour Cycle in Ledgewood. If you would like some detail as to why, feel free to send me a PM with your cell # or requesting mine and I'll be more than happy to fill you in. My experience with them was, ultimately, nightmarish, completely unsatisfactory and very insulting. They will never see any further business or referrals from me!;)

Open Road, aka Triumph Metuchen, is a much better bet, IMO. Friends of mine who have purchased and had their bikes serviced there have been quite pleased. They have gained two salespeople and one mechanic who defected from Trebour over the last year... I think that speaks volumes!

So interesting that I've used Trebour for everything including shim replacement, tire changes, Jardine installation, PCIII installation and routine maintenance. I have found them to be rather expensive but have never had an issue with the quality of their work.
Since Phil's comments..I am now paranoid as hell, however!

I'll tell you about my experience with them when we get together, zen. After my last experience, I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to them to do any significant work on an R3 and I'd be doubly hesitant to refer anyone else to them as well. They were extremely incompetent and to make matters worse they lied through their teeth in an attempt to pull the wool over my eyes. Bad news!!!

Manos, I'm up for a meet & greet ride. Let's make sure we include Adam and the other few Captains in North Jersey!

The guy I take long trips with every summer rides an R3 as well. I'd like to get him to be part of the group.
Believe me Phil, I do not doubt what you are saying for a second.
It is just interesting that our experiences were so different.
Was it a particular mechanic's screw up that they would't admit or just an overall dysfunctional shop? Yes, we'll talk about it when we meet.

So...can we do this in the Spring? ****, Phil...I'm in Denville! his should be easy! At least a meet up, a ride and a burger/brew.
