Hey guys.
My 05' won't start 🙄
Have had it split apart for paint etc.
Had it started last 3 days, 1 time a day, but that's all.
It won't start except 1 out of 100 tries.
1. Fuel pump and pressure is fine.
2. Sparkplugs are good, Iridium.
3. No spark.
So it must be something with the ignition, coils or a bad connection.
But I have checked everything I can, with my limited knowledge.

Any good advice as to why there are no sparks?
I have pulled a negative straight from batteri to plug, there are voltage on the coils, all of them, when I try to start it, there are just no spark.

I'm going insane.

And another topic, Tuneecu, I've managed to get connecting 1 time, all other tries have failed.
Charger is on battery, I've pulled the light fuse (even though I didn't have to last year)
But still no connection.

Thanks in advance 🙏

With
Tuneecu always have ignition in the run position then

Connect the tuneecu

I have fought a no spark for several years a real pain in the ass.
When it is cold no spark let it set in the sun and around 3:00 it would fire right up
I have checked everything and replace a lot of parts. The way i overcome thiswith no start condition is to put my shop charger on tje bike and crank it up to max plus start assist and aboutwith 15 to 20 minutes i give it a shot of starting fluid and she fires right up. I installed two batteries with no luck but now i know they are not any good so i got two new ones coming.
I hope that will cure the problem.
I would make sure you have 12 volts at the coils. You can use a 12 test light (if it is the resistance) to monitor when the ecu grounds the coils. I found that the old dwell meter worked the best.
When the dwell meter would work the bike would start.
At first i would jump start the bike but later i had to use the big battery charger.
Hth
Any questions just ask

Hi there.
Thanks for the input 😎
I'm afraid that I have found the reason, but I need it confirmed.
I have measuret the voltage on the coils, here is what I found:

Battery: 13.0 V
Relay: 12.7 V
Coil positive, to battery negative: 12.7 V
Coil positive, to battery negative when pushing start:
10.0V
Coil, between pins with ignition on: 11.4 V
Coil, between pins when pushing start: 8.2 V

It seems to be a drastic drop on the pins when pushing start?

Am I looking at a bad ECM?
Or, can it be the starter stealing all the voltage?

The rockets need a real good battery and charged to full b4 they will start.
They can show 12 volts but you hit the button and then the battery drops to 10 and they disengage.
Check volts at the battery but i must say checking voltage at the coils worked good.
Sometimes jumping a rocket does not work

Like said above, when the battery voltage reaches a certain point (don't remember) the ignition will not fire, but the engine will still crank.

Possibly the kill switch. I was a triumph technician forv17 yrs. We had a few where the kill switch on n the bars got either corroded or just burnt the contacts. Can you get a trouble code out of it. Paul

Hi.
No, there are no error codes 🤷🏼‍♂️
Just put a new lithium-battery on it, 350cca.
I'm running out of options 😭
