The unveiling link has line ups for 2015, 16, and 17, and when I click 17 for adv and touring I only see a tiger! I click 2016 and the trophy comes up,hmm. I go to cruisers for 2017 and get R3 and thunderbird, I click on R3 and the touring is missing I click on 2016 and it's back. My dealer's already told me the trophy is done but, I just got myself worked up about the R3t being dropped because triumph omitted it from the 2017 R3 line up, doesn't mean they won't put it up later, but local dealers are marking down 2015's to $11,600 already. I'm 5'7" and too **** small for the R3t anyhow but it would sure be nice to see triumph update it instead of dropping it.

Chances are there will be differences country to country. There's been speculation about it being related to emissions regs, the new Euro regs are so strict that numerous bikes have gone away, Honda has dropped some models as well, so I wouldn't be shocked if the R3 was not going to sell in Europe.

The day of the combustion engine is coming to a close, slowly but surely. And for the sake of the planet (no matter how much it sucks for petrol heads) it should come quickly (along with all the other polluters, many of which are definitely far worse than bikes.)

It should wait til I am dead and gone so I don't have to deal with it.

Well, the dealer meeting / 2017 Launch has passed (this past Monday) and it appears that the Rocket was neither embellished, nor retired.

If someone hears to the contrary, it would be nice for them to share. My dealer said if there were upgrades or changes or retirement that he would call me. No call so far.

My personal interest is in the R3T. I am happy the R3T does not appear to be retired, but I am disappointed that there weren't at least some upgrades. I had hoped that 2017 would be the year that brought such simple things as cruise control and tachometers.

I kind of think that the Rocket III Touring has been defined, and that they will be available as long as Triumph still has some squirreled away in their warehouse. I'd love to have an incentive to trade up ... but most riders actually like the idea that the bike is the same from year to year because there's no incentive to waste money on a new one.

Sigh....

Triumph seems to have gone all-in on the twins, apparently they must feel that is their niche. The rat dot net site has pretty much become a twin site, you don't see much else on there.

The touring may be a US Canada only item in 2017 and going forward. The emission rules in Europe are getting really strange. Looks like we get touring and the rest of the world gets roadsters.

What they really need to do is aggressively market the Rocket. Let people know its 140 cu inches. Let them know its more powerful than any Harley. Let them know the price. Let them see many ads with photos. Most riders I meet don't know anything about them.

The Touring has not been listed on Triumph's UK website for more than a year.

I was at my dealers this morning, his news was not good. He was also at the dealers meeting/launch and told me he specifically asked about the R3T. The powers that be told him they see less then 2 DOZEN brought in for 2017. It sounded like they have enough parts left for a few and that is what they will build. It would appear that those of us that were able to snag a left over 15 model might have very well bought the end of the R3T run. He was told that the USA market was the only place the R3T sold well, with the push towards the 2 cyl's, the R3T lost out.
Anyway, time will tell.
