2009 Triumph Rocket III Classic
Hey, guys. You've helped me so many times and I need help again. The positive lead has a plug about 6 inches down from the battery terminal. About 2 years ago it came loose and the bike sputtered and wanted to die on the highway. Check engine light, speedo went crazy, no tach, the works. I figured out that the plug had separated and taped it up. Last week it did the same thing, but this time I was only a couple blocks from the house and managed to limp it home and it completely died in the driveway. I fixed the plug again, hooked it all back up but now there's nothing. No lights, no power to anything at all. Any ideas? I checked the fuses in the fuse block but they were all good. Is there a main fuse somewhere else I may have blown?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

What rocket? 2300? or the new 2500?
Can you upload some pictures?
Bad connections are basically a choke point for current. This just translates to too much heat. Sounds like the wire is shot. But I'm not exactly grasping hwara happening here.

2009 Classic. I'll try to get some pics.

These older rockets all have very poor grounding connections.
My guess is that the bad connection situation caused the grounds and the main wires to overheat. I suggest you remove all the grounding wires and at the very least fix the connections or better yet just replace the ground wire to be one solid line to its destination, its a very common issue with a simple solution. Same goes for the main + line.
My suspicion is that the arching from the bad connection might have damaged some electronics, like the relays. Fingers cross the ECU is still fine. One step at a time!
Lets start with a known good. 12.8v at the battery, then the main lines, then relays. if none of that works, we can trouble shoot the next steps.

This connector has screwed me twice now. The problem is that it just barely makes connection and keeps backing out just enough to lose connection. Not again. I'm making the connection permanent. I'm done with it. At least she lives again!!!

that looks to be hacked to bits. Depin and replace connections, good work!

i knew that it had to be close to battery
i just cut that connecter out and soldered the wires together on mine.
