Myself and a friend from work took off on a "spur of the moment" ride after work yesterday. Not a real long ride (120 miles or so) but it was enough. Weather was great and the scenery was nice! Everything is finally starting to turn green around here.
We traded bikes for a while (he's got an 09 Road King). Its a REALLY nice bike IMO. The new 96" motor and six speed are a good combination. Not as much power as the Rocket of course but adequate.
I don't think he wanted to give mine back. He said "awww, I was just getting used to it"! He loved the power!
We went to a local bike night, had a beer and went home. I could sure use more days like yesterday!

I agree it has been a good week. I have been riding to work to get the break in period over with despite the cold mornings (33deg). So im developing a list of things im going to need to make this ride more comfortable..........

Chaps - for protection, not sure if they will help keep me warm at 70mph in 35degf weather.

Taller windscreen - a must, I get buffeting and wind noise. If I dip below there is virtually no noise and very smooth.

Front bars and highway pegs - Self explanatory

Throttle lock- or something of that nature (flips idea first) This is a must. Man that throttle is heavy.

Thats a good start to make the ride comfy. Im trying to learn to ride the R3T more like a touring bike but it is hard with that acceleration. its so **** peppy!!!!

mutt

I had a nice ride also (385 miles). A friend and I rode to the New River Bridge in West Virginia. I too am looking for an alternative windshield and some type of throttle lock.
